The Dahlonega Square Hotel & Villas

1. Is there on-site parking for both the hotel and the villas?

Yes and no, both The Dahlonega Square Hotel and the Choice Avenue Dahlonega Square Villas have on-site parking. There is a parking lot to the left of the hotel reserved strictly for our guests. In front of the four villas on Choice Avenue there are four parking spots (one parking spot per villa). Additional parking for the Choice Avenue Villas may be found in the       free city parking lot located on Choice Avenue between South Park Street and Derrick Street.  The Historic Villa on South Park Street does not have on-site parking, so guests

staying at the Historic Villa will need to park at The Dahlonega Square Hotel or in the free city parking lot on Choice or in front of the hotel.


2. Do you have chargers for my electric car?

We have two Tesla chargers and one universal.  Both are complimentary for our guests.  Non-guests may charge if there is availability and they must pay a $20 fee.  EV charging for non-guests is NOT AVAILABLE on weekends.

3. Do you allow pets in your hotel and villas?

We do not allow pets in any of our hotel rooms or villas. While we love pets, we want to respect our guests who have pet allergies.


4.  Is there a place I may smoke on your property?

While we do not permit smoking in our hotel rooms or villas, we do have a porch and two other outside areas at the hotel where smokers may smoke.  The Grand View and Mountain       View Villas each have a front porch.


5.  Do you have a restaurant at your hotel?

We do not have a restaurant at our hotel or villas. However, we do offer a Breakfast in Bed option catered by Chastain Southern Catering & Cafe.  Orders need to be placed with her     the night before morning delivery.  Breakfast with Chastain includes coffee, juice, fruit and choice of hot breakfast entree brought to your room or villa.  There are also many terrific          restaurants in the historic district that serve delicious meals and are a quick walk from both our hotel and villas!  Additionally, some of the wineries have restaurants and are perfect for a special dinner or brunch...reservations are required.


6. Does each hotel room have its own bathroom?

Yes, each of our hotel rooms has its own private bathroom complete with a walk-in shower, mahogany vanity, hair dryer, and toilet. 


7. How many bathrooms are in each of the four villas on Choice Avenue?

The Grand View and Mountain View villas (sleep up to 6) each have two bathrooms, one with shower only the other with a tub/shower combo.  The Golden Pines and Miners Ridge         villas (sleep up to 4) each have one bathroom with tub/shower combo. The Historic Villa (sleeps two) has one bath with shower.

8. Is there a mini-fridge and microwave in each room?

Each hotel rooms has a mini-refrigerator, but the hotel rooms do not have microwaves. The exception is the McGuire Suite, which has both.  The four villas on Choice Avenue all have     full kitchens with full-size refrigerators, range, toaster oven, and microwave. The Historic Villa on South Park Street has a kitchenette with a refrigerator, toaster oven, and microwave. 


9. Are the villas connected to one another?

The four villas located on Choice Avenue are connected to one another in one structure. However, there is no joint access from the interior of one villa into another. The Historic Villa,     located on South Park Street, is located two blocks away from the other four villas.

10.  Are the villas located at the hotel?

No, the four villas are located a few blocks from the hotel on the east end of the historic district on Choice Avenue.  We call these the Choice Avenue villas.  We have one other villa, the Historic Villa, and it is located on South Park Street in the heart of the historic district.


11. Do you have a hotel bar?

We have a wine tasting room and serve local wines from Kaya Winery and Vineyards and Twisted wines from their sister property.  We offer tastings, glasses of wine, and bottles. Guests are welcome sip wine in the tasting room or on the front porch or take a glass or bottle of wine to our Game Room Lounge!

12. Do you offer group rates or discounts?

No, we feel that our prices are very fair and therefore we do not offer any discounts or lower group rates. 


13. Will I be billed when I make my reservation?

Guests will be billed for their first night stay when they book their reservation. Guests are then billed for the remaining nights seven days prior to their stay.  Upon arrival guests have       paid in full.


14. What is your cancellation policy?

Due to our size, cancellations greatly affect us. Therefore, we uphold a strict, ten-day cancellation policy which includes a $15 cancellation charge per room cancelled. Any                       cancellations or shortening of stay with less than 10-day notice will forfeit a refund.

15. What are your Covid-19 policies and procedures? 

As a hotel, we follow strict guidelines and protocols designed to help prevent the spread of diseases from Covid-19, to the flu, to more common illnesses. We offer contactless check-in for our guests who prefer this type of check-in.  Information is emailed and texted prior to arrival.  Additionally, our refresh service is suspended (feel free to ask for fresh towels and removal of trash).  Hand sanitizer is also on every floor near the elevator.
